Matthew Kilfoil

Matthew Kilfoil

Apprentice Professional

A Durbanville man through and through, Matthew began his golf at Durbanville Golf Club aged 7. Whilst at Fairmont High School, in addition to golf he played rugby, football, cricket and baseball. His first passion, however, was always golf and after completing a one year Culinary Diploma to enhance his love of cooking, he successfully completed his PGA Diploma. This included a six month stint in the Pro Shop at Durbanville Golf Club.

Having gained a handicap of Plus 1, an ongoing injury curtailed Matthew’s hopes of a full time career as a player. However, prior to turning professional, that didn’t prevent him from being a key member of Durbanville Golf Club’s victorious team in both the Western Province Premier League and the Bradshaw Cup in 2017.

Keen to work within the industry, Matthew leapt at the chance to coach when offered the opportunity by Lana Orgovanyi at Pure Motion Golf Academy. He has quickly settled in with his Junior clients, both beginners and those who are already under way. He is looking forward to his coaching career with great commitment enthusiasm.
