Born and raised in Cape Town, Lana’s golfing career began as an amateur in Europe where she quickly became the No 1 player in Belgium, winning the prestigious Omnium of Belgium tournament as well as a career high seventh place in World Championship at Golf National de Paris (venue for the 2018 Ryder Cup) and several international top 10 finishes. She subsequently turned professional and enjoyed a successful period on the Ladies European Tour.
Lana decided to use her wealth of experience in tournament play by switching full time to a teaching career, a role she has now carried out with distinction for 20 years as a member of the South African Women’s PGA.
Her ability to relate to golfers of all ages and levels by quickly identifying their individual strengths and weaknesses is second to none. She has taught and developed many youngsters from the time they picked up a golf club to the present day, with Juniors under her tutelage now representing both Western Province and South Africa.
Whatever your age, standard and stage of the game you are at, Lana will ensure you receive her total commitment to help you reach your goals.
From his time at High School in Worcester, Johan showed his sporting talent by representing Boland at cricket, hockey, tennis and golf. He decided to pursue a career in coaching golf and embarked on a three year Professional Golfers Association (PGA) course, the first two of which were at Northlink College. During this time he twice represented the College in the prestigious annual University Sports South Africa tournament.
After completing his PGA Diploma, Johan subsequently joined Pure Motion Golf Academy at Durbanville Golf Club. He has since been an important part of the successful coaching team.
Johan’s great ability to relate to youngsters has helped a significant number of Juniors completely new to golf. Many have since earned a handicap to allow them to play on the course whilst developing their game under his watchful eye in the Academy.
His teaching skills are not confined to Juniors, of course, and his calm, patient approach will encourage and inspire players of all ages.
In choosing to expand his golfing experience, Johan has also taken on the role of Pro Shop Supervisor at Durbanville Golf Club, leaving him free to continue his passion for coaching during the afternoons.
Originally from Klerksdorp in the North West, Sergio took up golf as a teenager. His talent and hard work took his handicap down to 1 within a year. After matriculating, he moved to Cape Town where after two years of a Sports Management Course he decided to commit wholly to golf. In 2008 he was offered an opportunity to work in the Pro Shop at Durbanville Golf Club which he combined with successfully gaining his PGA Diploma in 2011. In the meantime he had moved to the Metropolitan Golf Club as the Club Professional where he both managed their Pro Shop and began his career as a golf coach.
After securing sponsorship, Sergio went to Tour School and played on the IGT Tour for a couple of years until injury ended his playing dreams. Fortunately, to the subsequent benefit of many of his clients, throughout this time his passion for studying and learning the game took its natural course into coaching. Joining Pure Motion Golf Academy early in 2016, Sergio’s greatest satisfaction as a coach is to share and enjoy his clients’ commitment to wanting to improve their game.

A Durbanville man through and through, Matthew began his golf at Durbanville Golf Club aged 7. Whilst at Fairmont High School, in addition to golf he played rugby, football, cricket and baseball. His first passion, however, was always golf and after completing a one year Culinary Diploma to enhance his love of cooking, he successfully completed his PGA Diploma. This included a six month stint in the Pro Shop at Durbanville Golf Club.
Having gained a handicap of Plus 1, an ongoing injury curtailed Matthew’s hopes of a full time career as a player. However, prior to turning professional, that didn’t prevent him from being a key member of Durbanville Golf Club’s victorious team in both the Western Province Premier League and the Bradshaw Cup in 2017.
Keen to work within the industry, Matthew leapt at the chance to coach when offered the opportunity by Lana Orgovanyi at Pure Motion Golf Academy. He has quickly settled in with his Junior clients, both beginners and those who are already under way. He is looking forward to his coaching career with great commitment enthusiasm.
