Junior golf development

We manage one of the top junior golf academies in the Western Cape with over 80 children training weekly under the watchful eye of our specialist coaches. Several of our young golfers represent WP and have been selected to represent the golf club in league games.

We have many more young golfers who have developed through our programme and now represent South Africa or senior WP teams; others have been given scholarships to American Colleges. Our programme caters for juniors 4 to 17 years of age and has been developed over many years. Our training is specific to the age of each child and their level of golf.

Group or individual……what is right for your child?
We assess all children when they enter our academy and advise you on the most appropriate and effective programme for their needs.

We offer the following options:

  • Grassroots (4 to 6 years)
  • Youth Academy (7+years) : Group or Individual options available

Order of Merit

We launched The PMJA Order of Merit competitions in July 2012 at Durbanville Golf Course. It has proved to be very popular and extremely valuable to the development of our juniors.  We have up to 28 juniors taking part.

All Junior Academy members, who are course ready, can participate in some or all of these events. The purpose of an Order of Merit competition is to give our juniors additional opportunities to play on course and to become accustomed to playing in a competitive environment. They will build up points after each event, which then counts towards the final order of merit at the end of each term.

The top juniors are awarded prizes at the termly prizegiving now sponsored by TechnoGroup.
