The AIM of the day
The AIM Series is back!ย It’s a fun family day out on the course. Compete with yourself, family, and friends. This event booked up fast in June and we expect the demand to be high in August – so register early! Come back to this page and follow us on social media to be in the know as soon as registration opens.
Join us on Saturday afternoon at 3 pm on 20 Augustย at Durbanville Golf Club to have fun and sharpen your short game skills.
The AIM of the day is to encourage newcomers and young starters to step onto the course without being overwhelmed and to challenge more experienced golfers to test their short game skills.
This is an ideal opportunity for families to play together and buddies to challenge each other. A fun day for beginners to experts! Spend the afternoon bonding and creating memories in the beautiful outdoors.
Rules
How it works
Each player begins the AIM series at the 25m Distance Marker and tries to reach their AIM based on their handicap status over 9 holes. As each player progresses through the series and achieves their AIM, or better, the distance that they start from will increase by 25 metres at the next event but their AIM stays the same. If the player does not achieve their AIM they will have the opportunity at the next event to try again from the same distance.
DISTANCE MARKERS
25m, 50m, 75m, 100m, 125m and 150m (the AIM remains the same)
AIM 36
For the non-handicapped, handicap 19+, beginner and young golfer who is not yet playing regular golf on the course, the aim is to take 36 shots or less from the 25m distance marker over 9 holes. You then progress to the next distance marker at the next event. It may not be achieved in your first event but this does not matter. Enjoyment, working toward achieving your goal and learning the game is what itโs about.
AIM 27
For golfers with handicaps of 10 – 18 the aim is to take 27 shots or less from the 25m distance marker over 9 holes. You then progress to the next distance marker at the next event.
AIM 24
For those with handicaps less than 10 – the aim is to take 24 shots or less from the 25m distance marker over 9 holes. You then progress to the next distance marker at the next event.
Example: You are playing the AIM Series for the first time and you are a non-handicapped player. You will be “Aiming” to take 36 shots or less from the 25m Distance Marker over 9 holes. If you achieve your AIM of 36 you will progress to the next distance of 50m at the next scheduled event. If you take more than 36 shots and do not achieve your AIM you will have the opportunity at the next event to try again and reach your AIM from the 25m distance.
