Although born and raised in Cape Town, Lana’s golfing career began in Europe where she became the No 1 amateur in Belgium and enjoyed a successful period as a professional on the Ladies European Tour.
Lana switched full-time to a coaching career over 20 years ago allowing her to match her wealth of experience gained in tournament play with her natural flair to teach golf. She has taught with distinction throughout the years as a member of the South African Women’s PGA. Heading up the Pure Motion Academy, Lana ensures her coaches offer the best of service to clients and students while also ensuring smooth operating of the Pure Motion Driving Range to offer the best possible experience for our clients.
Our aim is to make golf a pleasurable experience for you. We believe that it is not a sport you can perfect. We approach each client with an open mind, personalising our coaching techniques to achieve the best results for you. LANA

Jurian Mostert

Golf has been Jurian’s passion for as long as he can remember. In 2022 Jurian was proud to earn his PGA South Africa diploma. From the very first time he picked up a club, he was hooked on everything golf—whether it’s the challenge, the technique or the mental game. Over the years Jurian has developed a real love for teaching and sharing what he has learnt. Helping students experience the same excitement that he gets from the sport.
What really drives Jurian is seeing his students succeed, especially when they achieve something that isn’t always easy. Watching their confidence grow or seeing them nail a new skill brings him so much joy. He feels that it is such a rewarding feeling to know that he has played a part in their progress. Every day he feels lucky to do something he loves and help others improve and enjoy the game.

Leandri van Rooyen

Leandri embarked on her golf journey in 2006 and competed in various national and international long drive competitions. She qualified as a PGA Golf Professional with the PGA of South Africa in 2014 and is now an AA class PGA Professional.
With over a decade of experience in the golf industry, Leandri seamlessly blends her passion for the game with a wealth of expertise. Having delved into both retail and coaching since 2010, she brings a unique perspective to the Pure Motion Golf Academy – her genuine desire to share the joy of golf with others.
At the heart of her coaching philosophy is a commitment to ignite that same passion for golf in every individual she mentors.

Coach Leandri is an exceptional golf coach! She has been coaching my daughter for the past year at Pure Motion Golf Academy at Durbanville Golf Club. As a dedicated golf coach with a PGA qualification earned in 2020, Luzelle has had the privilege of coaching for six rewarding years. Her passion lies in empowering individuals to surpass their potential on the green. Whether guiding seasoned players or nurturing young talents, Luzelle’s goal is to ignite and foster a deep love for the game. Working closely with juniors fuels her enthusiasm as she witnesses their growth and excitement for golf blossom. Matthew Kilfoil

Matthew is a senior member of Pure Motion’s coaching staff and has been an integral part of the Pure Motion team since 2017. He learned golf at Durbanville Golf Club from the early age of 7. Yet while playing several other sports at Fairmont High School, golf remained his passion. Matthew is a member of the South African PGA and has positively impacted many young and more mature players he has taken under his wing. Several of those young people developed into excellent junior provincial golfers. Matt is patient and has a heart for all of those he coaches.

Beginning 2022 I registered my grandson (8 yrs) with your academy. He lacked general cofidence and being small in posture has never excelled in contact sport at school. Matthew took him “under his wing” as coach and mentor.
Within ONE YEAR(!) he now is a little 9 year old boy filled with confidence. He is showing a lot more concentration in his class at school and every game played at the golfclub I can seen improvement!
He refers to Pure Motion as “his school ” and to Matthew as “my coach” – he will do whatever it takes to enhance the environment he is coached in – it is like he now has something he totally believes in.

My son, Christian, started golf lessons with Matthew in 2020 aged 6 when he was mishitting the ball, usually with quite a fade. Since then his technique has improved to the extent that he is now hitting his irons with a slight draw which was what we intended. For a now 7 year old he also drives the ball pretty well. His accuracy has improved dramatically by working on his stance and has improved his ability to control his shot.
Matthew as a coach is incredibly patient, softly spoken and has great knowledge of golf. He challenges by creating ‘games’ and tasks which motivate Christian to improve. More recently, he has taken Christian out on the course which has been equally motivating and fun.
His coaching experience and ability ensures that Matthew keeps lessons interesting. This has not only really improved Christian’s game, but has also nurtured a love for the sport.
We have been very happy to refer Matthew to other parents who are just as happy as we have been.

M.S. Calitz

M.S. Calitz grew up in Kimberley playing golf for Diamantveld. Shortly after becoming first team Captain the team went on a 3 year winning streak for the Kimberley schools league. He is a temporary member of the Sunshine Tour of South Africa and still plays on the tour part time.
M.S. has 7 years coaching experience and is a full time member of the PGA of South Africa with AA status. He is a dedicated coach that has worked with all ages, from 4 to 80, and has a well tuned ability to turn an average player into a great player. His biggest strengths are communication and patience.

Paul learned to play golf as a teenager at Rondebosch Golf Club whilst at Rondebosch Boys High School. Turning professional at the age of 25, he first gained his PGA Diploma and is now an AAA class PGA Professional. His experience in coaching golf for over 15 years has quickly proved to be very successful at the Pure Motion Golf Academy where his aim is to coach the individual and avoid stereotyping.

I started lessons with Paul after recovering from a broken arm, needing to rebuild my swing and strengthen my arm.
The technology of the CoachNow app was brilliant allowing me to view my swing, keep abreast of all the small changes, clearly see my progress and even enjoy share the benefits of the video clips with friends.
The personal attention to detail from Paul helped my understanding of the changes he brought about to enable me to improve. This all created a better and more detailed analysis of my swing which took me from a struggling 16 to a pretty decent 9 handicap.

Balls may be hired by the bucket until 5:30 pm in the summer months (4:00 pm on weekends and in winter) from the PMGA office.
