Since opening in 2014, Pure Motion Golf Academy (PMGA) has established itself as the leading Academy of its kind in the Western Cape. PMGA provides the ideal environment to learn to play golf and improve your game.
Our experienced coaches at the Hazendal location offer dedicated coaching studios and state-of-the-art technology and a range of structured programmes to help junior and adult players perfect their game, correct their swing or, simply, learn to play and enjoy the game of golf.

Lana Orgovanyi, founder and Head Professional of PMGA, has 30 years of international experience as both a successful amateur and professional golfer.
She has an extensive and impressive coaching record, working with some of South Africa’s best amateur and professional golfers.
Her dedicated team of coaches is available six days a week to provide coaching and professional advice.

At the Hazendal location the two professionally equipped inter-leading coaching studios have been designed to cater for private and focused training sessions, exclusive corporate group sessions and professional club fitting. Both studios are fitted with a world leader in golf coaching technology, V1 Pro video analysis software, V1 pressure mats, high-speed cameras filming from front on and down the line, and FlightScope launch monitors.

We offer individual golf lessons where we focus on your specific areas of need and set out a plan to improve your performance. We encourage a minimum of three lessons to ensure you grasp the concepts and understanding of what is being taught. Package deals offer better value.

Although born and raised in Cape Town, Lana’s golfing career began in Europe where she became the No 1 amateur in Belgium and enjoyed a successful period as a professional on the Ladies European Tour.
Lana switched full-time to a coaching career over 20 years ago allowing her to match her wealth of experience gained in tournament play with her natural flair to teach golf. She has taught with distinction throughout the years as a member of the South African Women’s PGA. Heading up the Pure Motion Academy, Lana ensures her coaches offer the best of service to clients and students while also ensuring smooth operating of the Pure Motion Driving Range to offer the best possible experience for our clients.

M.S. Calitz
PGA Teaching Professional

M.S. Calitz grew up in Kimberley playing golf for Diamantveld. Shortly after becoming first team Captain the team went on a 3 year winning streak for the Kimberley schools league. He is a temporary member of the Sunshine Tour of South Africa and still plays on the tour part time. M.S. has 7 years coaching experience and is a full time member of the PGA of South Africa with AA status. He is a dedicated coach that has worked with all ages, from 4 to 80, and has a well tuned ability to turn an average player into a great player. His biggest strengths are communication and patience.

Jurian Mostert

Golf has been Jurian’s passion for as long as he can remember. In 2022 Jurian was proud to earn his PGA South Africa diploma. From the very first time he picked up a club, he was hooked on everything golf—whether it’s the challenge, the technique or the mental game. Over the years Jurian has developed a real love for teaching and sharing what he has learnt. Helping students experience the same excitement that he gets from the sport.
What really drives Jurian is seeing his students succeed, especially when they achieve something that isn’t always easy. Watching their confidence grow or seeing them nail a new skill brings him so much joy. He feels that it is such a rewarding feeling to know that he has played a part in their progress. Every day he feels lucky to do something he loves and help others improve and enjoy the game.

Christiaan Basson
PGA Associate Coach
Hazendal, Stellenbosch
Christiaan was born and raised in the Strand region of the Cape. He progressed solidly as an amateur and began to forge a notable career for himself. In 2006, he was rewarded for his consistent golf and selected for South Africa to compete at the Eisenhower Trophy.
The following year, Christiaan made the decision to turn pro, and it has paid off richly for him. He finished 62nd on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit in his first year on tour, and he kept his card for 19 consecutive seasons after. Christiaan only had to wait two years for his maiden Sunshine Tour win as he clinched the 2009 Coca Cola Charity Championship.
In 2012, he proved this was no fluke as he won the Investec Royal Swazi Open. He got his 3rd tournament victory in 2014 at the Lombard Insurance Classic. In his time on tour, Christiaan has 64 top ten finishes to date, firmly establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with.

Junior Academy Membership (JAM)
All new juniors are required to be assessed by one of our coaches. These complimentary assessments help us place your child in the most suitable programme. We do this together with you, to select the best programme, coach, day, and time to fit the child’s level and schedule.
Once assessed or returning to the academy, for just R316 per child for the year you get discounts on lessons, events like AIM, Order of Merit (OOM) and Holiday Programme, a PMGA cap and more.

Junior Golf Development
The development of Juniors at PMGA has been exceptional with both Provincial and International representation by boys and girls, several of whom are currently enjoying prestigious golf scholarships in the USA. Lana and her team start at grass roots level for young beginners, moving to group and individual lessons as they progress.
These lessons include encouraging camaraderie and good sportsmanship – foundations of the sport. For the more established players, we will ensure they do not forget the fundamental purpose of golf – enjoyment. We pride ourselves in sharing our clients’ achievements and love of the game.
